Connect Resources:
CONNECT With Others in His Church
“For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free - and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.” 1 Corinthians 12: 13-14
The Big Idea:
Together we all make up a body of believers that has been united by the Holy Spirit. We are God’s hands, feet and mouth and called to act together and support each other. We express our love for Him by loving others in community.

Attend the CONNECT @ E91 class to meet others, learn more about our church and how to become a church member.
Connect with others on Sunday or Wednesday night in an Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) or a Bible Study Elective class (contact Dave Mullins, 576-6127 ext. 323).
Meet and provide mutual support to others in need through the various E91 Support Groups (contact Wendy Herrberg, 576-6127 ext. 382 or visit our website at www.east91st.org).
Join a small group for fellowship, Bible study, prayer and support (contact Dave Mullins, 576-6127 ext. 323).
For men, study the Bible on Saturday mornings (Wholly God’s Holy Men) or in weekday small groups (The Quest for Authentic Manhood). For women, study the Bible in small groups throughout the city (Sister to Sister). Both the men’s and women’s ministries also have weekend retreats in the fall.

Grow Resources:
GROW in Your Love, Knowledge and Devotion to God
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever.” 2 Peter 3: 18
The Big Idea:
God has begun working His own good work into each of our lives. We must surrender to His leading as we grow in the likeness of Christ.

Study the Bible with others on Sunday morning in an Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) or on Wednesday night in a Bible Study Elective class (contact Dave Mullins, 576-6127 ext. 323).
Use the Topical Memory System (Navpress) to memorize and meditate on God’s Word.
Begin a time of daily devotion with God, spending time each day in personal Bible study, prayer and meditation. Consider using Oswald Chamber’s My Utmost For His Highest as a devotional or check out several online daily devotions at www.christianitytoday.com.
Test your Bible knowledge at www.backtothebible.org/challenge/. Based on your results, pick a book of the Bible and study it.
Find someone else that is wanting to grow in their spiritual walk and meet weekly with him or her for study, prayer and accountability.

Serve Resources:
SERVE God by Serving Others
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2: 10
The Big Idea:
Christ didn’t come to be served, but to serve. He has invited us to join Him in putting others needs before our own. We love Christ as we serve Him in others.

Discover your Spiritual Gifts in order to find a meaningful place to serve:
- Complete the Heights Spiritual Gifts Survey (available through Gary Rowe, 576-6127, ext. 371)
- Complete an online spiritual gifts survey at www.churchgrowth.org
Donate your time or material goods to the following E91 benevolence ministries:
- Solomon’s Wardrobe Clothing Ministry
- Twelve Baskets Food Pantry
Volunteer to serve in the areas of our church that have the greatest need:
- Children’s Ministries (Gayle Adams, 576-6127, ext. 360)
- Ushering / Worship Servants (Tania Labib, 576-6127, ext. 325)
- Connecting Place hospitality area (Susan Sharp, 576-6127 ext. 322)
Develop your generosity by giving to the church on a regular basis a fixed percent of your paycheck (make it the first check of the month, not the last).

Share Resources:
SHARE the Love and Message of Jesus With Others
“But in your heart set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15
The Big Idea:
Paul talks about how Christ’s love compels us; after receiving the good news ourselves we cannot help but to share it with others. We may all not go to the uttermost parts of the earth, but we can share with everyone around us.

Participate in the Know Him and Making Him Known class on Sunday mornings. For more information,
call Jen Fernane at 576-6127, ext. 388.
Share the love and hope of Jesus with children around the world by sponsoring a foreign child through monthly sponsorship.
Go on a short-term mission trip to share the love of God with others around the world through worship,
service, and evangelism.
Become a prayer and/or financial supporter for one of E91’s daughter churches or missionaries.

Worship Resources:
WORSHIP God With Your Entire Life
“Therefore I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing
to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.” Romans 12: 1
The Big Idea:
Man was created to worship God – that is what God desires most from us. He wants us to live our life fully for Him through the sacrifice of Jesus and the power of the Spirit. Connect first and foremost
with your heavenly Father. He created us. He did so for His pleasure and invited us to join Him in His work here on earth. He loves us so much that He wanted to be in community with us, in us, and through us.

Make attending weekly Sunday worship services a priority for your life and make an effort to get to know the people who sit around you.
Buy a journal and for 30 days write your daily thoughts about life, your relationship with God, your relationship with others and your praises and prayers.
Turn off the radio or the music in your car for a week and use this time to contemplate your life, your own spiritual development and how you see God being involved in your life.
Listen to a Christian radio station while in the car (try The Song 93.9 FM or WGNR 97.9).
Join others on Wednesday night or Sunday morning in the Prayer Chapel to praise God and pray for the needs of our church.
